The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game

When I first heard that we are going to watch this movie instead of Kingsman, I was like goddd whyyy.  Usually, when a new movie came out, I always go and watch the trailer. But this movie, seriously? I didn’t even know that there’s a movie named The Imitation Game. My first impression based on the tittle was, ohh this movie must be something like The Maze Runner kind of movie. Or Hunger Game? Haha. Okay lah, if Miss Shar said so, go on je la. Although, I thought it’s going to be so boring.
So, when I reached at the cinema, we were given the ticket, but haha, we had to sit randomly, I mean the tickets were spread randomly. So, I was in the same row with the seniors. I bought popcorn even though I had lunch already. Hey, popcorn is a must okay! When we entered the cinema, we conquered most of the seats there. Cool right. :D
And so the movie began. You know what?  I don’t know which century was that and I hate to watch those movies that were set in the century before 21th. Hahaha. I don’t like history. So I was thinking, what kind of game they are going to play during that time. What I had in my mind was, it cant be something like the maze runner or hunger game. So what kind of game are they going to play?
And then the main actor came in. Oh this guy from star trek. Khan. I dint even know his real name. He played a role named Alan Turing. To be frank, I also didn’t know that this movie is based on the true story. Meaning that, I didn’t know who is Alan Turing! I was actually tried to focus really hard on the movie since I have to do an essay about this movie.  The starting was actually quite nice. I like it when Alan said something sarcastic with his serious face. After the jokes they showed, I started to enjoy already. I think.  So from the starting, I got know that Turing was a professor of a well-know university which I forget where it was. But there is some part of the starting that I still don’t know why is happened. The part at where Turing’s house was robbed and why did the police officer looking for his army file? Was him an army? No right? And then when Alan was in the room for his first meeting with his colleagues, there’s an Enigma machine on the table, Alan, the way he looked at the machine, and saying that it’s beautiful, I actually can feel his passion towards machine and technology. Like the way he appreciated it so much. The task given was to break all the codes. So that’s the game. But why was it called The Imitation Game? I don’t understand.

Alan Turing had passion so much on technology and mathematics. It was shown when he’s doing his work, like he is so hardworking. But the thing is, he is a selfish man who didn’t want to cooperate with others. In this world, we cant live alone. We need help from others if we want to succeed. It is shown in the movie, only after his relationship with his colleagues became better, he succeed. It was a sad thing to know that he was a homosexual. He could have made a perfect couple with Joan. I mean like, they really care about each other. To me, they were in love, but in a different way. Even though that Alan was a gay, but I think he might have feelings for Joan. It was shown on how he looked at Joan for the first time, although he wanted Joan to break the code at the same time. Joan was the first woman who actually managed to pass the exam that Turing proposed. Even though, all the guys underestimated her. But who cares.

There are a lot of other issues that can be touched in this movie. And a lot of things that we can take as moral values too. For example, we have to protect our friends who are in needs. We must know that we cant live alone in this world. We always need a companion. We also need to know that to achieve success we must not give and put our efforts a lot on our work. I’m a straight movie kind of person. But after watch this deep movie, it makes me ponder even more.  The imitation Game is definitely a worth watching movie. I only knew who invented the computer from this movie. And I know that Alan Turing was a hero and save many lives without even holding the gun. I had different kind of feelings when I watched it. I laughed so hard at the jokes. I get excited. My heart beats faster when he managed to do something. I cried of the sad scenes. And it makes me watch this movie for the second time and never get bored.
